Something about the dawn of the cold winter months, the crisp autumn air, blue skies but cold enough to make your cheeks redden leaves me wanting cheese. And loads of it.
Melted and gooey and oozing all over a baguette. Soundtracked with Christmas music or the crackle of a fire (although in my case as I live in a flat, it’s usually just a crappy Aldi candle) it just doesn’t get cosier.
As part of Six by Nico’s latest venture, you can actually get an entire kilogram of indulgent cheese delivered right to your door every single month.
It’s part of The Cheese Club, the newest home delivery package released as part of the HOME-X website.
Each month, you get five hand-picked cheeses. You also get crackers, chutney and half a bottle of Port all perfectly paired for a cheese-pamper night.
The experience is perfect for a boujee night in watching I’m A Celeb or something equally cultured. It will also make a cracking gift – who doesn’t want a delviery of cheese?
The first month travels the breadth of the world making stops in Hampshire for Tunworth Camembert, France for ValenÇay Fermier (Goats cheese), Netherlands for some Gouda, Ireland for Cashel Blue and Scotland for some St Andrew’s Farmhouse Cheddar.
Of course, the tipple, Krohn Lagrima White Port, is from Portugal. Stag Bakeries’ Water biscuits make the perfect base while the top of your cheese jenga tower will have a dollop of Spiced Pear Chutney.
John Burns, HOME-X Operations Manager and the man in charge of The Cheese Club experience, said: “I’ve always had a passion for cheese and for me it’s the perfect accompaniment for a night in with family and friends. We want people to experience luxury cheese and port from new places, allowing them to try something new that we know works together. Our immersive guide allows you to expand your knowledge, getting to know and identifying new flavours and textures.”
The Cheese Club Box, designed to be shared by two, costs £50 and includes delivery across the UK.
