After this year, we’re all very familiar with takeouts by now.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be completely over paying upwards of £20 for average-sized (usually cold) and ultimately, consistently disappointing pizzas from you know who.

2020 has really opened my eyes to how much independent businesses rely on our support and custom – they really have needed us more than ever!

We’ve seen many of our favourite locals adapt and overcome, offering takeouts, DIY kits and so much more.

This week, Stockport staple I Knead Pizza decided to launch for delivery in the city centre and I was sure to get right in there with my order.

A staple in Reddish for over 2 years now and shortlisted in this year’s Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards, I Knead Pizza have been providing the people of Manchester with authentic Neapolitan pizzas through their cosy little site.

The guys are masters in their craft and to me, feel massively underrated.

This past year has robbed them of plenty of well-deserved custom so I was so pleased to hear them announce their venture into our vibrant city centre where they will no doubt blow up.

Their pizza is Neapolitan style, so it’s soft and floppy – not crispy – which makes it easier to digest apparently!

All of their dough is slowly fermented for a minimum of 24 hours at room temperature and then cooked in an electric pizza oven that’s been shipped over from Naples (electric pizza ovens are A LOT more eco-friendly than wood burners, plus they cook the pizza more evenly!).

The guys use San Marzano tomatoes, which are picked from the bottom of Mount Vesuvius, creating pizzas that are a true product of Naples and it’s methods.

While their Italian charcuterie, fior di latte mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and the finest San Marzano tomatoes for our sauce are imported, the rest of the veg is locally grown and sourced from local business.

A little hint from me to you, you’re going to want to try their Taste of Honey (£11) tomato, fior di latte, Napoli salami, pepperoni picante & a drizzle of honey – you’re welcome.

Their massive pizzas start at £8 and you’ll never pay more than £13 for one – you really can’t go wrong.

Oh and there’s absolutely LOADS of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available too.

They’re available for delivery right now on Deliveroo and UberEats.
