Ancoats favourite, Elnecot, has created some sublime new autumnal dishes for the brand new evening menu.

With everything you’d expect from a brand new Elnecot menu, this has all the favourites safely intact like the Manchester Egg, it sees the return of old much-missed classics and has plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too.

There are some wonderful new fish and seafood dishes on the menu, including a colourful Scottish Lobster Pancake dish (£15) which features fresh lobster chunks mixed with creamy celeriac remoulade.

There’s a good drizzle of katsuobushi oil to add a strong umami flavour plus sweetness from the fish sauce caramel all wrapped in freshly made pancakes.

The second new fish dish sees a huge Scottish Plaice (£14) served with kaffir lime. It’s the perfect addition to a table of sharing dishes especially if you’ve opted for Elnecot’s famous Lincolnshire roasties and the classic Sexy Greens.

For those after something a little dirtier, there’s the Veggie Elnecot Burger (£10).

We all know and love the Elencot Burger which features dry-aged double smashed beef patty but for this season, it’s time to try the veggie option.

This – I have to say massive Veggie Burger – also has the option to be vegan, swapping out the Brioche bun and removing the cheese. They both feature a sloppy Joseph soybean burger with braised fable.

Another vegetarian dish on the new menu is the autumn vegetable and haricot bean cassoulet (£8).

There’s the option to add chorizo for a spiced meaty kick to make it a seriously heartwarming dish perfect for these wintery days.

It wouldn’t be a new Elnecot menu without some punny new names, and this one features the ‘You Like Sprouts Now’ (£6) dish.

Crispy Brussels sprouts and squash cakes are topped with a delicious soy glaze, Kewpie mayonnaise, fresh mint springs and beansprouts for an extra crunch.

It simply wouldn’t be a new autumn menu without some gooey, delicious melted cheese, that’s where the Baked Tunworth Cheese (£20) comes in.

This one is served with lemon thyme herb, adding an incredible aroma and citrus flavour to the cheese – a pairing better than Ant and Dec. Plus there is confit garlic, fermented pear chutney, baked grapes and crunchy crostini for all your dippy dippy needs.

Fans of Elnecot will be super pleased to hear the Wild Mushroom Arancini (£6) is FINALLY back on the menu, served with the classic Beetroot chutney.

They’re just as good as ever, delightfully crunchy on the outside with a soft and melt-in-your-mouth middle, featuring the welcomed flavour of pearl barley and plenty of earthy wild mushrooms.
