With the puppy love boom of the pandemic still in full swing, it is now estimated that the majority of people in the North have a canine companion, as the BBC recently reported that 3.2 million pets were bought across the UK during lockdown.
Back in February, Manchester was also named the second best place in the UK for dogs to live. OnBuy Pet Supplies created an index of six factors which can determine the level of happiness of our furry friends, applying it to different towns/cities in the country.
The six factors analyse the number of parks, pet-friendly accommodations, pet shops, dog grooming places and dog vs cat population – these factors were added together in order to achieve an overall score for each city.
Swansea (333) came first, closely followed by Manchester (318), Plymouth (318), Blackpool (304) and Belfast (286).
Sticks & Socks is open right now; stacked with lots of treats and toys, that are eco-friendly, natural and handmade with proceeds from some of the items sold also go to a local dog charity.
Sticks & Socks is open now, Tue-Sun 10-6pm.
