New restaurants and bars opening in Manchester this November

There's pasta, wine, bakeries AND hash browns...what more could you want?!

Juicebox

Open Now
Squeezing itself nicely between the former CAU restaurant and cocktail bar Saints & Scholars, Juicebox is a brand-new natural wine bar and beer hangout spot that recently opened its doors in Didsbury. The new site specialises in natural/low intervention and organic wine, as well as craft beers and fancy snacks. All food and drink is also available for takeaway, delivery or to sit in.

Indian Affair

New Chorlton neighbourhood restaurant, Indian Affair recently opened on Barlow Moor Road, setting the benchmark for home cooked global cuisine in the suburb. Owned by husband and wife duo Harshit and Natasha, who have hand-picked all of the dishes on the menu from family recipes and childhood restaurants, Indian Affair serves a fusion of authentically contemporary small plates made for sharing.

Provence

A wine bar, coffee venue and tasting shop has opened up on Hardman Street in the heart of Spinningfields. A dedicated wine bar is something that the area was lacking, and Provence acts as a haven for coffee connoisseurs by day and wine drinkers by night, all in a laid-back, chic setting that’s perfect for after work drinks.

Nonna’s

Hosted at The Green Lab venue as part of Deansgate Square, Nonna’s Pasta is open now and will take residency until Christmas offering an authentically Italian dining experience with Nonna’s twist on old classics. Customers can choose from a range of indulgent appetisers including; arancini with pesto and taleggio cheese, and, for the main courses, the pop-up will offer an exciting range of Nonna’s recipes including Nonna’s Cacio Pepe, a tasteful twist on the classic Italian sauce. 

Trove

Open Now
Levenshulme’s Trove has recently reopened after a chic revamp! The cafe / bar specialises in pastries, cakes, coffee, and sourdough bread – but they also sell wine by the bottle and have a seating area for brunch-style dishes. It’s a lovely spot for weekend brunching, or an evening of wine sampling with your best pals!

Loaf Oxford Road

The second site for cake specialist, Loaf has finally opened. Located on Oxford Road, the cafe sees owner, Aidan bring all of his best bakes, including the classic Bourbon Biscuit, Jammie Dodger, Custard Cream, Oreo Chocolate, Pink Panther and Biscoff!

Gooey’s Christmas Cafe

Opens Tuesday 1st November
On the back of the success of the first ever city-centre cafe for Gooey, the team behind the venture will be opening a festive pop-up at Selfridges in The Trafford Centre this week. The thirty-seater cafe will be themed around all things Christmas, and will boast a tasty menu of freshly-baked treats including a smores cookie pie, Snowman choux, a chocolate orange cake and Gooey’s beloved millionaire’s shortbread with a special Christmas twist.

Desert Island Dumplings

Opens Wednesday 2nd November
Moving on from its cosy stall that was previously sitting as part of NOMA, Desert Island Dumplings has confirmed that it will be launching as a pop-up inside Ancoats’ General Store from Monday 31st October. Bringing a huge menu of trademarked dishes, diners can expect breakfast, lunch and sharing items – all 100% plant-based. The restaurant also has a dedicated hash brown menu, with toppings such as Salt & Pepper Hash Browns, Hash Brown Poutine, Hash Browns with ‘cheezy’ beans, or just a classic fried version.

Exhibition

Opens Friday 11th November
Opening up in the iconic St George’s House on Museum Street, Exhibition is the new venture from the family behind Peter Street’s Haunt. Levelling up from the traditional food hall concept, the dining space in Exhibition will be home to Baratxuri, OSMA and Sao Paulo Project serving up innovative seasonal menus with a refined flair. From small plates to big sharers, the venue promises an exquisite dining experience with global inspiration and locality at its heart. 

Ewe

Opens Friday 18th November
Replacing previous restaurant India Gate in Bolton, Ewe will serve up modern, British and globally inspired dishes with a warm countryside welcome. Showcasing a seasonally changing menu of classic and locally sourced signature dishes, Executive Chef Maros Surovka’s menu takes inspiration from the four elements, earth (signature dishes like Shepard’s pie and beef wellington), water (seafood), air (chicken and duck-based dishes) and fire (sizzling steaks from the grill). This also includes favourites such as pasta and pizza, as well as vegan and vegetarian options.

Love Factory

Opens Monday 21st November
Manchester’s brand-new multi-purpose, creative venue Love Factory has announced its debut event on 21st November, presenting an experiential programme inspired by football, combining live matches with unique exhibitions, interactive elements and exclusive hospitality options. There’ll be a multitude of hospitality offerings including personalised boxes, street food traders, a singing terrace and much more.

Pastan

Opens November TBC
Taking over the former site of the outstanding vegan eatery, Vertigo on Cross Street, Pastan is set to open its doors at the end of the month bringing with it an indulgent menu of 100% plant-based pasta. It features both a lunch and evening menu, with uniquely curated dishes and some familiar favourites done the vegan way. For example, Pastan will serve a fully vegan Carbonara served with a homemade creamy sauce and lardons, alongside Cacio e Pepe, a traditional Bucatini pasta with black pepper sauce straight from Rome.

MUSU

Taking over the old Randall & Aubin site, MUSU will give diners three different menu options, an A la Carte ‘Sentaku’ Menu, a 7- & 11-Course Kaiseki Menu, and an Omakase Menu – which will be served at a 6-seater counter presided over by Head Sushi Chef Andre Aguilar – who trained under Japanese Sushi Master Yugo Kato. The menu will feature ingredients sourced from Japan, including A5 grade Wagyu beef, and wild Bluefin Tuna that is fully certified, sustainable, and traceable.

Little Blonde Bakes

Bespoke cupcakery, Little Blonde Bakes is bringing all of its delights to Ancoats this month! Expect mammoth milkshakes, cosy Autumnal desserts, pies, cookies and everything in between for a well-deserved indulgent treat.

Calcio

Opens November TBC
A new addition to Northern Quarter, Calcio has taken over the former Herd NQ site and will be the city’s first ever retro football and arcade bar! It’ll showcase all of the upcoming world cup games, alongside a menu of burgers and pub classics, beers, cocktails and authentic, rare football shirts.

Burgerism

Opens November TBC
Burgerism, the Salford ‘hidden gem’ tucked away on an elusive industrial estate, has announced its plans for a brand-new on-street location in Gatley opening this month. This is the first time Burgerism’s loyal customers will be able to see the brand on the high street. The operation will essentially be the same, as all orders (both delivery and collection) will still be online, but guests will now get a sneak peek into the day-to-day operations of Burgerism’s top secret craft. 

Project Halcyon

Once open, project Halcyon Distillery will be located in the basement of the Bonded warehouse – a Grade II listed building dating back to the 1860s. The brainchild of Manchester’s first distillery Zymurgorium, the cocktail bar is shrouded in secrecy – with illicit charm and opulence, the bar hosts a state of the art distillery – the perfect place to unwind and escape the tiresome routine of everyday life.
