The NQ bar with an ever-expanding selection of Gluten Free Beers (and ciders)

GF alternatives are everywhere but sometimes it's difficult to track down some good ole beer, well not any more.

Gluten-free became somewhat of a food trend in recent years, restaurants now have entire gluten-free menus and our favourite supermarkets have entire aisles dedicated to the cause.

But whether you’re allergic, intolerant or trying a particular diet – it’s important for the restaurants and bars of Manchester to cater for everyone.

A product famously FULL of gluten is beer. Luckily, those clever folks down at Beatnikz Republic Brewery created their very own PALE ALE that is entirely Gluten Free.

‘Hurrah to no more bloat’ I hear you scream.

The ale, Boardwalk (4.0%) is a light orange colour with slight biscuit notes (GF biscuits of course) and with a whole lot of body. The whirlpool is loaded with El Dorado to ensure the beer as a seriously juicy base. The aromatic hop Ekuanot is used to lift the citrus flavouring and tie it to the dry hop.

Citra, Centennial and Mosaic are thrown in the dry hops leaving a full-bodied beer, brimming with Mango, Papaya and Grapefruit flavours.

That’s not all though of course, Beatnikz also has a rotating selection of Hogan’s ciders available on tap and bottle that are all GF. This particular gem is packed full of natural flavours and lacking that horrible pure sugar taste some ciders are full of.

There’s also Thistly Cross an Elderflower infused cider caramel in colour. Fruity on the nose and dry on the palate this is a refreshing and zesty cider perfect on a sunny day.

So this perfect, relaxing environment is welcoming to your whole group of mates, including that one that’s gluten-free. Whether or not they slip up when pizza is put in front of them is none of my business.
