Like in most industries, Covid-19 is having the biggest effect they have each seen in decades. From the food and drink to the clubbing scene.
And as most people know Manchester as a big old party town, the forced closures following the UK lockdown has seen many venues shut the doors for the first time in years.
These venues are essential to town. They make the ‘quick pint after work’ into the best night of your life.
The Manchester & Salford Save Our Scene collective has been set up to provide financial support to workers who aren’t eligible for immediate government funding.
The collective launched their first fundraising initiative in the form of raffle prize draw on Crowdfunder.
Tickets are £5 and there are 8 grand prizes to be won, including ‘Pick’n’Mix’ from Mr. Scruff, range of professional DJ and music production courses, vinyl bundles, tickets to Parklife, Homobloc and Audio Farm’s One Tribe Festival.
There are over 60 guestlist spots up for grabs that will get you into the best local parties and venues such as Band on the Wall, Albert Hall, Homoelectrik, Soup Kitchen and many more.
For those affected by the situation, the application for funds is open from Monday 6th April for 2 weeks. Check here to keep up to date.
