You can now have the Hawksmoor experience at home with a range of meal kits and cocktails on offer. Their Rib-Eye Box must surely be the king of dinners, with 35-day dry-aged rib-eye, ultimate oven chips, creamed spinach, bone marrow gravy and sticky toffee pudding!

This lot have made a big splash in the city since turning up a few years back and there’s only really one reason why – and that’s because the food is out of this bloody world! There’s not enough space here for me to just start reeling off my favourite dishes – there’s waaay too many of them.
Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza
Nationwide delivery of these Rudy’s pizzas means that anyone in the UK can have a taste of what’s been voted one of the best pizzas in the WORLD. Either get on Deliveroo or order their ‘Bake at Home’ pizza and bang it in the oven when it arrives.
Baratxuri
The legendary Basque restaurant have created ‘Cook at Home’ kits so you can nip to Freight Island to collect, then take home to re-create the ultimate food experience in your very own home. Iberico Pig Cheeks? YES!
Bundobust
This will come as music to the ears of anyone who is a fan of outstanding Indian food; Bundobust is on Deliveroo! Vada Pav’s all the way!
Pho Cue
Available for takeaway and local delivery, one of the best restaurants to come out of 2020 will be continuing well into the new year with their massive lockdown boxes, street food boxes, noodles and of course – those Vietnamese Tacos.
Don Giovanni
Re-create restaurant quality dishes in your very own home courtesy of the city’s oldest independent Italian. There’s a few options available including delivery, collection and even DIY at Home kits.
Sicilian NQ
This Sicilian bistro and bar opened just a few weeks before the first ever lockdown, and they are now open for collection. Their sharing platters are the thing of legend, and there’s enough pasta, arancini and olives to keep even Robert De Niro happy. Oh, and then there’s the desserts.
Northcote
Michelin-starred cuisine in your very own home? Surely not? Well, this pipe dream is now a reality with Northcote’s ‘at home’ service – where Lisa Goodwin-Allen will send you the finest dishes using the finest ingredients and all you need to do is finish them off yourself in your crappy little kitchen.
Six by Nico
If you’ve found yourself thinking you need a 6-course slap up meal in lockdown, Home By Nico has got your name written all over it. It’s the perfect way to enjoy luxury dining at home, maybe you’ve got a birthday, an anniversary or you’re just feeling damn boujee.
Plant Grill
For anyone doing the old ‘Veganuary’ or if you’re one all of the time, Plant Grill serve up some of the bestest plant-based dishes available to man (and woman). Available for Click & Collect from Escape to Freight Island.
Federal
Federal is by far my personal favourite spot for brunch in Manchester and I know I’m not the only one when I give it that high praise. Available for takeaways between 8am – 4pm in the NQ. Strongly recommend some Natas too.
La Bandera
Available for collection from their restaurant, or local delivery, everyone’s favourite independent Spanish gaff is available straight to your house. There’s tons available including their Street Food Meal Boxes, tapas, paella and a massive selection of wines and booze.
Albert’s Schloss
Get all of your German Bierhaus dishes delivered directly to your house, including their legendary WURST and Kebabs. Oh, and don’t forget the lagers.
Yadgar’s Cafe
Another contender for best Rice & Three in the city, Yadgar’s is a no-nonsense kind of place – you go in, tell him what you want and then you tuck in. No fuss, no chatter and certainly no problems! There’s always a decent selection of curries on offer each day and throughout lockdown you can pop in and get them to takeaway.
Gooey
If, like me, you’ve taken to trying to brush up your baking skills and it’s gone horrifically wrong, just stop. It’s not for everyone, leave it to the pros. Luckily, Gooey have a little kiosk at Ducie Street Warehouse which means dribble worthy doughnuts and cookies galore. They’ll be back on the 7th Jan 2021.
Blue Caribou Poutine
Manchester’s chips, cheese & gravy loaded delivery service, the guys over at Blue Caribou have started their poutine delivery service back up again – offering their impressive range of Poutine Kits straight to your door.
Black Leaf
Black Leaf is back with everything from sticky toffee pudding to aubergine steak and chips. You can also pop down for takeaway food, pints and wine from their bottle shop at Alvarium.
Voodoo Rays
New York-style pizza is the current flavour of the month for many people, people who, like me, love plenty of cheese on a thin slice of pizza the size of a small European country. Voodoo Rays are some of the best in town.
South Manny Flavas
The Arndale Market favourites are open as usual for takeaway, perfect for filling any fried chicken holes you may have. Many people would agree that this is some of the best fried chicken in the city, and with a whole host of added extras and sides on top – you can’t go wrong really.
Zouk
The masters of anything with a bit of spice in it, Zouk just love to feed you – and they’re not going to let a global pandemic get in the way. There’s something for everyone here – from traditional curries, kebabs, platters, roast dinners, whole lambs stuffed with rice – you can’t go wrong really!
Cafe Marharba
There’s a constant battle every day in the Northern Quarter between those who have been to Marharba and those that haven’t. Those that have – well, the battle has been won – you’ve achieved the pinnacle in lunchtime curry achievements. Those that have never been to Cafe Marharba though – that’s where the struggle is. It’s okay, it’s not very far away at all – you can do it…
Nell’s Pizza
Available for click and collect and for delivery, you can actually get huge pizzas delivered to your house from Nell’s at Common in the NQ. You can also collect their 22 inch pizzas, including the classic Cheese (£22) to a personal favourite of mine – the Cheese & Onion Pie (£28).
Mughli Charcoal Pit
Ooof I love myself a bit of Mughli action every now and then and so if you’re looking for a high-quality Indian experience – look no further than these true masters. Their curries are excellent but it’s all about their sides and the little street food things they offer.
This & That
A Manchester institution, This & That have been offering pick up from their location in the Northern Quarter since the start of the first lockdown. That’s right, everyone’s favourite ‘Rice & Three’ can still be enjoyed, just head on down and grab what you like.
Viet Shack
Open for delivery and take outs from both Arndale Market and Ancoats locations, don’t let something as trivial as a worldwide pandemic get in the way of you eating your Quack Fries.
Yang Sing
One of the city’s oldest and most respected Chinese restaurants, you can’t go wrong with Yang Sing – your takeaway is certainly in good hands. They serve up some of the city’s best Dim Sum (hello Duck Spring Rolls) and some brilliant mains.
Wholesome Junkies
All plant-based delicious, wholesome junk food that has arguably got your name on it. Get ’em at the Arndale Market, Ancoats General Store, on UberEats, Deliveroo and they’re even doing DIY Home Kits. Phew!
Noi Quattro
Noi Quattro, rather new (ish) to the NQ, have been smashing out the pizzas throughout all Tiers and lockdowns and they’re excellent. Takeout and Delivery.
Blue Eyed Panda
This Ancoats eatery has been impressing since opening with their menu of traditional Chinese dishes, dim sum and a pretty impressive range of vegan and gluten free options. They do a Salt & Pepper Platter here which is something you should definitely get. Like definitely.
Ciaooo Pizza
You should certainly give Ciaooo Pizza a go – especially if you’re a fan of some of the sexiest looking pizzas you’ve ever eaten in your life. Especially their weekly specials – they’ll blow your mind.
I Knead Pizza
The Reddish favourites have set up shop in the city centre now too, so if you’re looking for some proper good, simple and tasty Neapolitan pizzas – this is the place!
Honest Burgers
Available for Click & Collect or Delivery, there’s loads of big juicy burgers flying around from Honest, including their local special – with bacon gravy, Owd Yonner cheese and crispy pastry pieces.
