After living in Newcastle for 3 years and spending a pretty considerable amount of my student loan at the original Lane7 site, I did let out a little squeal of excitement when I heard this news.
After months of staying home and doing zoom quizzes, I couldn’t be more excited to say hello to a brand new, socially distanced venue FULL of safe activities.
The UK’ largest independent, late-night “bowling alley” (it’s so much more than just bowling) is landing right on our doorstep this Autumn, taking space in Manchester’s Great Northern Warehouse, overlooking the Great Northern Square.
So what can we expect from Lane7?
Alongside your classic ten pin bowling, there will be a whole host of other exciting activities, but the owners are staying tight-lipped on what we can expect, how rude!
The new Manchester venue joins the roster of other Lane7 alleys and is set to be just as fun as their existing sites in Newcastle, Aberdeen, Middlesbrough, Birmingham, Liverpool & Sheffield.
Looking at their offerings, my guess is that we’re in for a proper treat (expect alternative takes on karaoke, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, mini-golf, retro arcades, photobooths, darts and go-karting!)
Centre Director, Mark Schofield, said:
“We’re delighted to add Lane7 and its boutique bowling and entertainment offering to the mix of exciting brands here at the Great Northern Warehouse. We know that this brand of fun is something the city sorely misses after months of staying home to stay safe and we’re sure the venue will prove popular with all of our visitors, whether they’re dropping in for a game of bowling, to enjoy the atmosphere while catching up with friends or eager to try any of the other activities Lane7 will be home to.”
Located in Deansgate; The Great Northern is a retail, entertainment and business destination centred around a stunning Grade 2 listed building (with everything from casinos and cocktail bars to top interior designers).
Joining the likes of Odeon Cinema, Almost Famous, Dormouse Chocolates, Impossible and absolutely loads more, I’d say it’s a pretty perfect fit and JUST what we were after in the area.
Further details of the Lane7 launch, including opening dates, will be announced shortly.
Did anyone notice that their logo reads the same backwards as it does forwards? It blew my mind.
