First of all, let me explain Mr Black to you – because you might not have heard of them before.
Bursting onto the vibrant Australian café and coffee scene back in 2013, Mr Black is the brainchild of award-winning distiller Phillip Moore and his “designer-turned-coffee-snob” mate Tom Baker.
They set out to inspire people to take their love of coffee, which was certainly enjoying a HUGE boom in cities like Melbourne and Sydney at the time, into their evening drinks – so they began roasting their own beans to make Mr Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur.
Renowned for its robust, dark chocolate and citrus flavour, Mr Black uses single origin coffee beans from Papua New Guinea, Kenya and Colombia that are blended with pure Australian vodka.
They work with local farmers to source ethically, cultivated and sustainable coffee that is then brewed slowly using purified cold water to retain the delicate and complex flavours of the coffee.
Fans of Espresso Martinis rejoice! Mr Black offers up the perfect base for the UK’s favourite cocktail – all you need is 60ml of Mr Black and 30ml of Espresso and – voila – the perfect Espresso Martini every time.
Mr Black can also be enjoyed ‘on the rocks’ or as part of a rather dazzling array of cocktails that you can find on their website, including a personal favourite of ours – the Coffee Tonic.
So, what’s all this about £500 worth of Espresso Martinis then? Good question, let me elaborate.
To celebrate coming to Manchester, we’ve teamed up with the good people at Mr Black to offer up a whopping £500 bar tab to be enjoyed at 5 of our favourite bars in the city, including Federal, Rosso, Science & Industry, The Washhouse and Three Little Words.
All you need to do to enter the competition is click below, enter your details and the winner will be announced on Friday 10th September. Good luck!
