Intimate, grassroots music festival 42 Degrees is set to take over the picturesque setting of the Lake District this July to celebrate a diverse lineup of music, fringe, comedy, dance and workshops.
Recognising creativity through various art forms, 42 Degrees is an immersive space to enjoy music and the arts, with a welcoming atmosphere and a wide variety of UK music talent taking to its stages, including a line-up that leans heavily on the Manchester scene.
Headliners this year include multi-instrumentalist and producer, Werkha, Yemi Bolatiwa, So Flute, Haseeb Iqbal and Night People – all of which have made an impressive name for themselves across the local Manchester music scene.
A new wave of artists have recently been added to the line-up, too, in collaboration with promoters turned record label SUBMIT including Verushka, DC Gore, 3rd Estate, Lawrence Hart and Alex Klein.
Programming a variety of workshops across the three days, 42 Degrees offers a space for people to learn, share and develop interests within the arts. The workshops are designed for all abilities and experience levels and cover everything from live and DJ music, to film, comedy, food and drink, poetry, spoken word and dance.
An event highlight over the weekend will be hosted by So La Fair, a collective of young emerging artists in Manchester, bringing their ‘How to keep up with the kardashians’ performance. The show is a theatre performance that focuses on the harmful effects of advertisements that promote the concept of the ‘perfect body’ on our mental and physical health.
The project aims to perform a celebratory rebellion against the templates women are suffocated with and instead celebrate how each individual woman has something no one can keep up with.
42 Degrees is known for its sustainable approach to festival season, with all on-site art installations created from upcycled materials, made to be marvelled at in the setting sun of the Lake District. Find yourself sunbathing in a bathtub filled with balls from freecycle and surrounded by flags made from old hot-air balloon material – 42 Degrees is a truly special weekend.
Located within the beautiful setting of Hutton-In-The-Forest, it’s also super easy to get to from Manchester, 5 mins off the M6 and just a 10 min drive from Penrith station.
After a hugely successful debut back in 2021, the festival now returns with ticket prices starting from £20. A weekend camping festival ticket costs just £90 and £85 for students.
