On Friday 29th July, BBC Radio 1 host and DJ Victoria Jane will take over brand-new city centre music space, Canvas for an evening of music, DJs and female-led brands.
From the 5-part YouTube mini-series ‘VIC MEETS…’, where Victoria introduces you to five Manchester-based artists she thinks are next up, Victoria has curated a line-up of some of the north’s best talent for her first ever event: VIC MEETS… LIVE.
Making up the line-up next week is The KTNA, [ K S R ], Mya Craig, P1 CAPS, Musumba and Nxdia – six emerging artists that Victoria has hailed as some of the North’s current best musicians.
Alongside this, there will be some local female-run brands showcasing their work and DJ Chaise spinning the decks throughout the night.
Already confirmed to showcase their businesses are jewellery designer Cherry By Ny, clothing designer and upcycler Imogen Howard and Come Dine With Sheebs will be selling a range of her home baked goods.
The event will take place from 8pm on Friday 29th July and runs until midnight at brand new, city centre venue Canvas.
Canvas features a live music, club nights, a members’ lounge with a programme of events, a 4am 7-days-a-week bar and restaurant, and digital platform.
The new venue comes to the city from the team behind two of London’s most prolific music establishments; The Pickle Factory and Oval Space, and has been founded by the team behind MAMA Group, which owned and operated Lovebox, Wilderness and Great Escape festivals as well as Hammersmith Apollo, Jazz Café, Forum, Manchester Ritz and G-A-Y venues.
