Have you ever looked at one of Picasso’s cubist paintings and thought; ‘I could deffo do that!’
Nah, me neither, but this is your chance to try something new and attempt to re-create Picasso’s unique style by painting your very own masterpiece.
Hosted by Chapter One Books on Lever Street in the Northern Quarter, this workshop will provide you with an introduction to Pablo Picasso himself, teach you about his signature cubist style painting theories and techniques, and go on to explain how he’s influenced the art world.
As you arrive to the workshop, you can choose your favourite Picasso painting to use in your practise. You will then be guided through your painting step-by-step by the teacher, and she will explain Picasso’s theories and continue to offer hints, tips and guidance to help keep you on track.
The workshop is suitable for painters of all levels, whether you’re a regular painter or even if you haven’t picked up a brush since secondary school but want to learn something new.
The art teacher is a practicing local artist and has 15 years of teaching experience following her education to a Fine Art Masters.
A selection of Picasso’s paintings will be on display to use as references, but the workshop isn’t just about copying what’s in front of you; it’s about learning what’s behind them and about how the artist created their works.
