The Black Fri-Ha-Ha Summer Comedy Nights
You can chuckle/chortle your way into the summer with the Black Fri-Ha-Ha comedy season at Salford favourite The Black Friar. Comedy troupe Glass Crumpet will be making their debut on 24 June, ahead of their journey north to the Edinburgh Fringe, along with a handful of other local, upcoming acts. The pub will, of course, be serving up its usual top-flight pub grub, to bolster those belly laughs.
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats at Albert Hall
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats bring their contemporary rock ‘n’ roll to Manchester this week. The soul, gospel and folk outfit – yes, all of the above – headline the Albert Hall on Tuesday 25 June, following appearances everywhere from Saturday Night Live to NPR’s Tiny Desk to supporting the Rolling Stones.
Pearl Jam at Co-op Live
Co-op Live host international superstars Pearl Jam this week. Celebrating the release of their twelfth studio album Dark Matter released in April, the American rockers arrive at the venue on Tuesday.
England v Slovenia – Euro 2024 at The Lawn Club
The Lawn Club in Spinningfields brings the Euros to Manchester with their huge 160″ screen. Teaming up with Lucozade, the venue will be serving up pints and pitchers of cocktails in their ultimate Euro fanzone and showing every game in the tournament. Come on England!
Pride In Writing from Hachette Pride at Queer Lit
Hachette Pride’s event, Pride in Writing, is spreading its wings and heading to Manchester for the very first time this week. Now in its fifth year, Pride in Writing spotlights and promotes queer northern voices.
Boasting a wide range of their amazing LGBTQ+ authors, this will be a great night to celebrate incredible queer voices, covering topics from LGBTQIA+ families to new approaches to masculinity.
How to get on to the Property Ladder with Affinity Living
Affinity Living host a special event aimed at supporting first-time buyers in Manchester. The community residential experts will answer questions on ‘How to get on the property ladder’, featuring guidance from a knowledgable panel. They hope to make buying your first home a little easier and simplify property market basics in the interactive workshop, providing support to help buyers navigate challenging conditions. Attendees will enjoy a welcome drink, followed by a panel discussion where experts will simplify property market basics. An interactive Q&A session will allow attendees to ask questions and receive personalised advice. There will also be drop-in sessions that will offer one-on-one time with experts for tailored guidance.
Manchester Indian Film Festival 2024
Manchester Indian Film Festival returns for its 15th year, showcasing the best of South Asian film, with a packed programme of features, shorts, series, gaming and augmented reality projects to enjoy. This year’s festivities kick off with an opening night at The Carlton Club, celebrating the legacy of South Asians in British music.

Outbreak Festival at BEC Arena
Independent music and arts festival Outbreak returns this week, showcasing the best counterculture and underground music. Taking place at the BEC Arena in Trafford Park, the three-day festival boasts a diverse and eclectic line-up including the rap star and gourmand Action Bronson, Flatbush icon JPEGMAFIA, Flatbush Zombies, Have Heart, Basement and math rock dons American Football, who will be celebrating 25 years since releasing their seminal LP1.
Spring/Summer at Freight Island: Maurice Fulton
Freight Island celebrate the summer with their festival takeover series in Manchester, showcasing sounds from the finest music selectors and artists in the city. The incomparable Maurice Fulton will be at the controls, so expect a journey through the cosmos of house, techno, soul, future R&B, dub… all the good stuff, basically. Support comes from Freakout Collective. Enjoy al fresco dining, drinking, dancing and prancing with the crew at Freight.

ANONHI and The Johnsons at Factory International
For the first time in a decade, ANOHNI presents a series of concerts with The Johnsons, including a night at Aviva Studios in Manchester. Live Out Loud Music Festival at Miners Community Arts & Music
A first-of-its-kind youth music festival makes its debut in North Manchester this week. Live Out Loud, which has been organised by students from Connell College in Beswick, has been designed to showcase some of the best up-and-coming talent from the local area. 18 performances across two stages have been scheduled to take place during the day at the Miners Community Arts and Music Centre in Moston.
The Wayfarer 1st Birthday
The Wayfarer celebrate their one year anniversary of being the border between Ancoats and the Northern Quarter by hosting a fun-filled birthday party on Saturday 29 June. Think prizes, drinks give-aways and a DJ providing the good vibes soundtrack. Also, Guinness fans can get a free pint by completing their ‘Split The G’ challenge. So maybe do some practice this week.
