If you’re familiar with classical music, the name Raymond Gubbay will undoubtedly ring bells, as the British impresario has been at the forefront of promoting and producing opera for over five decades.
Running from Sunday 11 December to Tuesday 3 January, there is an unbeatable lineup of shows on offer, with something that the whole family can enjoy at the most wonderful time of the year.

Sunday 11th December
A Dickensian Christmas kicks things off with a sublime selection of carols, classics, and readings from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, presented by Stephen Mangan. Following this, audiences can toast the Christmas spirit and join in with season favourites including Joy to the World, Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful and many more.
Christmas at the Movies
Thursday 15th December
Christmas at the Movies brings the greatest music from your favourite festive films together for one magical concert, as the Manchester Concert Orchestra will perform a selections of timeless classics including music from The Polar Express, Elf, E.T. Home Alone, White Christmas, Love Actually, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street and The Snowman.
Christmas Spectacular
Monday 19th December
The ultimate party – Christmas Spectacular – returns to The Bridgewater Hall with an extravagant show full of festive fun as guest singers Kerry Ellis and Ricardo Afonso hit the stage with the best Christmas hits in a sensational feast of music, song and dance complete with all things Christmassy.
