Manchester Christmas Markets can often be overwhelming, after all it is the biggest in the UK, which also means finding the right place for food can be difficult.
If you’re making the trip soon though, Middle-Eastern restaurant Habas has made things a little easier, as for the very first time ever it has launched its own pop-up restaurant on King Street as part of this year’s festivities.
The stall is headed up by multi-award winning chef Simon Shaw. With over 35 years experience in the hospitality industry, he is also the brains behind Habas’ sister restaurant’s El Gato Negro and Canto in Ancoats.
For the stall, Simon has curated a menu of warming Winter dishes including curries and burgers, all with that distinct Habas stamp. The food is shaped by a myriad of influences, embracing fresh, bold and exciting tastes from across the region.
Guests can enjoy a Moroccan Style Chicken Tagine Curry (£8), a Chargrilled Lamb Merguez Burger in Pitta (£8), as well as the restaurant’s signature Batata Hara spiced potatoes served with a dill sour cream.
The stall has a cosy seating area to enjoy the food, complete with traditional nods to the food’s heritage. To accompany the dishes, Habas is also offering a range of drinks including prosecco, beer and mulled wine, which they’ll be giving out free top ups to random lucky diners throughout the week.
