Drink-centric festivals are becoming increasingly popular, with gin, rum, vodka and tequila each having their own dedicated celebrations that take place worldwide each year.
Now, Manchester’s largest whiskey-focused institution, The Whiskey Jar has finally restarted its programme of festivals, which sees the bar combine their HUGE selection of over 350 whiskies with live music, interactive sessions, street food and more.
For £20 per person, the festival has two sittings on Sunday 31st July, one from 12.30pm – 3.30pm and the other from 4pm – 7pm. The ticket gets you access to the venue, the interactive sessions, and, of course, 5 samples of different whiskey-based flavours from across the globe.
You’ll also get access to discounted whiskies and selected drams, as well as a taco stall serving fresh tacos.
In the run up to the event, The Whiskey Jar will launch an exclusive cocktail list that will feature one-off cocktails and special mixes from the bar’s expert mixologists.
This is the first year The Whiskey Festivals have returned post COVID and they’re likely to be sell-out events once again. The July event is the third one to take place this year, with both the January and April events being hugely popular with whiskey lovers from across the city.
Guests will also be joined by a roster of whiskey professionals who will talk through the different variations of the spirit, its history and how best to pair the beverage with food and expert cocktail mixes downstairs in the bar’s basement.
After the event, guests are encouraged to hang around and enjoy the atmosphere of the vibrant Whiskey Jar as music and cocktail drinking carries on into the evening.
If you can’t make the event at the end of July, keep your eyes open for more Whiskey festivals set to be announced later in the year.
