Nothing beats a hearty Sunday roast to cure the worries and woes of a Saturday night on the town, and now Elnecot can confidently say it’s offering up one of the best in the city.

The neighbourhood eatery, which sits as part of Ancoats’ burgeoning Cutting Room Square, is the only Manchester restaurant to be given a spot in the Top 10 best reviewed Sunday roasts on Tripadvisor through a study compiled by Tombola.

As expected, the restaurant’s Dry-Aged Welsh Wagyu Topside Roast is really something special. Served alongside roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, parsnips, cabbage, a Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy, Elnecot is serving what is undoubtedly one of the highest standards of roasts in the city.

You can also get extras – which include additional roasties and Yorkshires.

Other roasts on offer include a Lemon, Thyme & Butter Roasted Goosnargh Chicken, Confit Leg; Crispy, Slow-Roasted Yorkshire Pork Belly; Slow-Cooked Shoulder of Yorkshire Lamb; and a Vegan Nut Roast.

From this Sunday 6th November, Elnecot are changing their opening time to 12 noon and they’re only going to be serving their Sunday roast menu all day, until 8:30pm. This way, diners will get a chance to try one of Manchester’s stand-out Sunday feasts whatever time they pop by.

Claiming the top spot in the Tombola study is The Lion pub in Bristol, while number two is Busy and Wilds in Brighton. Coming in at third and fourth are two Leeds restaurants – The Fox & Hounds and Dill and Bay.

Also making the Top 10 list were the Victoria Restaurant in York, Gwaelod y Garth Inn in Cardiff, The Clarendon Arms in Cambridge, Chez Mal Brasserie in Newcastle and Chris and Jo’s Kitchen in Bristol.

Elnecot is the only Manchester restaurant to have made the list.
