What: Corbieres has been a staple Manchester destination since 1978 when Former Manchester City player Mike Doyle and business partner Tony Miles first opened what was then a bistro.

Down those stairs you’ll find a juke box that most bars would envy and an atmosphere to match. Like Manchester’s very own underground cavern, Corbieres offers a selection of Salford ales that are a must try and if you’re lucky you’ll spot a few celebs hiding away in the corners.

All in all it’s one of our favourite Manchester drinking spots, but it’s worth remembering that you can also get very good quality food, served until 5pm.
