July at Electrik, feat The Specials' Jerry Dammers

Incoming this July, Electrik in Chorlton are presenting a series of notable events including their legendary weekly 1-Deck Wednesday Socials.

Head on over on a Wednesday and you will be privy to the weekly FREE 1-Deck Wednesday Social featuring some of the finest record collectors and crate diggers in the city. Following the success of June’s nights with Steve Davis and Kavus, the big names continue into July and has proven to be full of surprises and a one not to be missed.

July’s line up includes:

• 10th July – Andi Hanley
• 12th July – Marc Starr
• 24th July – Andrea Trout
• 31st July – Jerry Dammers from The Specials

A special mention goes out to founder, keyboard player and primary songwriter of Ska revival band The Specials, Mr Jerry Dammers who on the 26th of the month will be digging deep into his vinyl collection to soundtrack our Wednesday night with sounds of jazz, soundtracks, library music, funk, reggae, roots & more.

On top of this, Electrik are welcoming surreal collage artist sOlar, with two exhibitions in Manchester behind them, his upcoming ‘Lasers in the Jungle’ Exhibition concentrates on his recent work exploring space, science fiction, astronomy, wildlife and people. All of the original collages are carefully produced non digitally, using scissors, scalpels and material sourced personally. All framed prints are available to buy during the exhibition.
