Situated on 57 Newton Street, in Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter, the former textile warehouse has undergone extensive refurbishments to transform it into an eclectic and inspired boutique hotel.
A labour of love by husband and wife, Muj and Amelia Rana, the Cow Hollow Hotel has been beautifully and painstakingly designed. The couple’s focal point has been to ensure the hotel will be affordable and consistently-priced for guests. Named after the chic neighbourhood in San Francisco, the hotel encompasses the easy-breezy vibes of Frisco with a touch of the soul found in old warehouses from London’s Shoreditch to Manhattan’s meatpacking district.
The hotel houses 16 rooms, providing guests with affordable luxury throughout, with king size beds handmade from railway sleepers, a beautiful bathroom (complete with REN products), lashings of copper, and all the necessary tech (super-fast fibre optic Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, Jacob Jensen phones and Netflix) in each room to provide a real home-away-from-home.
It’s those extra little touches that make all the difference on arrival. Hotel staff will bring up gourmet breakfast bags at any time of your choosing, offer complimentary prosecco and nibbles in the evenings, and coffee in its lower-ground Aviary Cafe.
With a neighbourhood feel, the Cow Hollow Hotel has tied-up with selected restaurants in the Northern Quarter offering guests exclusive discounts for lunch and dinner. For drinks, look no further than the plantation-esque lobby cocktail bar, offering a hand-selected list of drinks with set prices – £8 cocktails, £6 wine, £5 beers and £5 spirits.
From start to finish, the hotel has been designed to tell the story of its rich history – once a key player in Manchester’s ‘Cottonopolis’. Original features from its illustrious past have been retained, with exposed oak beams, Carrara marble fireplaces, wrought iron machinery and original textile factory doors. A nod to the future, artwork from local Mancunian artists adorn the walls of the rooms, combining old and new to create something spectacularly different to other hotels in the city.
The perfect spot, from hustling through business deals or in which to spend a romantic weekend, the hotel is located just a 5-minute stroll from Manchester’s Piccadilly Station and the city’s hippest bars and restaurants.
Providing quality in price, the hotel’s rooms offer the same service, floorspace, technology and bespoke design with a set price that won’t change. Standards will be priced at £120 per night, and suites at £150.
