Ever since I started watching Game of Thrones on Sky when I was on the dole, living at my mum’s house in 2011 each season has ended and the wait for the next has gotten progressively worse and worse. The year just seems to stretch on and on, not helped with the fact that they don’t tell you bugger all in the trailers and this year they’ve put forward the release date from early Spring to Summer.

But alas – the wait is almost over and it’s only a few weeks now until Season 7 starts, and after the brilliance of season 6 – it looks like we’re all in store for a biggie. Spoiler alert here, so if you haven’t watched up to the latest episode you should skip to the next paragraph NOW as we join Jon Snow who’s on-off relationship with Rachel looks set to come to a head, Cersei and her struggles to take over the world with her mouse friend Pinky, and little Arya – wandering the small towns of America, solving crimes and helping the unfortunate by turning into a big green body builder.

Only kidding – there are no spoilers here! I despise people who spoil things. Anyway, to celebrate the upcoming season première Black Dog Ballroom NWS are going all Game of Thrones crazy with a list of special events longer than Arya’s death list. Starting on Monday 10th July they will be hosting a Game of Thrones themed quiz, so you can see if you really do “know nothing”, and a special screening of Season 6 episode 9 to refresh your memory of what’s going on.

The following Monday will then be the event that everyone has been waiting for, Season 7 – and so they will be screening episode 10 of Season 6 – the absolutely brilliant ‘Winds of Winter’, followed straight after by the first episode of the new season. On the big screens on the terrace, there will be comfy bean bags, ale and wine of Westeros as well as themed food and cocktails.

Every Monday evening thereafter will then be dedicated to screening the latest episode and so if you’re as excited as me to watch the new season, why not head on down to Black Dog Ballroom NWS and have some grub and booze while watching it. I’m sure there will be loads of people there to have a chat with afterwards, and discuss the likely 10 deaths that will occur in the first 40 minutes of the shows return.
