Whiskey is everywhere at the moment, what with it being World Whiskey Day recently and loads of the brown stuff knocking about. In fact, I’ve probably drunk more whiskey in the last 10 weeks than I have in my whole life, a fact that has resulted in some very poor life choices and delicate heads.
But screw it – there’s nowt else to do on a Tuesday so you might as well rock up to Science & Industry from 9pm on Tuesday 22nd May and take advantage of plenty of carefully curated cocktails, some great tunes and some top times.
Science & Industry is the dedicated cocktail bar above Cane & Grain in the NQ, and this lot specialise in the kind of scientific mixology that would give Albert Einstein a run for his money – so you can expect some pretty spectacular creations.
Drawing its inspiration from the notorious Irish street gang in New York City in the mid-1800s, The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey is a 44% abv blend of aged Irish single malt and grain whiskeys. The whiskey is first aged in seasoned Kentucky bourbon casks for five years before being finished in half-sized, specially crafted, virgin American oak barrels.
The resulting flavour profile is unlike any other Irish Whiskey, with a long, smooth finish with rich vanilla notes, but still retaining an unmistakably Irish character.
