And, where there is celebration, there is a need for something showstopping, something utterly indulgent and something that will help solidify those memories- and I think we have found just the thing.
The Beef Wellington from the A La Carte Menu at The Lowry Hotel is one of the single most delicious things I have ever eaten.
The finest fillet of beef is seasoned, seared and wrapped in a layer of Parma ham with sautéed mushrooms. It is then lovingly and delicately wrapped in a layer of home-made, all-butter puff pastry, brushed with egg to give it that beautiful golden hue and cooked in the oven.
The result is a crisp, buttery outer-shell of puffed pastry and a rare-centre of beef which cuts like butter and melts in the mouth. It comes served with confit shallot and a Madeira wine jus which really just sets the whole thing off.
The dish is made fresh to order, so please allow some time for it to be put together. The Beef Wellington costs £65, but is designed to be shared between two people and with this level of quality it is hard to say no.
It really does make the ultimate celebration dish- so if you have something commemorate, I assure you will never, ever forget this dish.
