Donuts? Or Doughnuts? It surely doesn't matter which way you spell it when they taste this good. These places compiled go all out to make your do(ugh)nut senses go insane and make the 99p Asda’s own bag of jam doughnuts look like a monstrosity.

Siop Shop
It’s a literally a case of too many doughnuts, not enough time at Siop Shop. They like to keep things seasonal (or even weather related like their Snowball doughnut that kept us all entertained during the Beasts of the East) and have introduced the hot cross bun doughnut just in time for Easter. Their classic glazed and vanilla are probably in my top 2 two best doughnuts in the city, or maybe even ever?

Siop Shop,53 Tib St, Manchester M4 1LS

Common
The original Blawd Co. venture, but why begrudge them when their doughnuts are spectacular. Baked fresh in the in-house bakery, with delicious choices such as salted caramel, vanilla custard or a good traditional raspberry jam.

Common, 39-41 Edge St, Manchester M4 1HW

Ancoats General Store
This Northern Quarter food Mecca is home to a range of baked goods which will have you coming back again and again for more. But, that being said, the real star of the show has to be the doughnuts  which are perfectly paired with one of the artisanal coffees.

Ancoats General Store, 57 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester M4 5AB

Solita
Ice cream doughnut. Great combo. And it’s even better than the ice creams you get from Mr. Whippy! Because the doughnut itself is also drizzled in chocolate and has chocolate pieces all over it. Guaranteed to put you in a food coma.

Solita NQ, Turner St, Manchester M4 1DW

Hawksmoor
What? Posh restaurant serves doughnuts? You better believe it, and you better leave some room for after your steaks, because Hawksmoor serves up mini doughnuts with a dipping sauce that you’d be foolish not to order.

Hawksmoor Manchester 184-186 Deansgate, Manchester M3 3WB

Manchester Doughnut Company
Operating from a tiny pub in Salford, Manchester Doughnut Company does exactly what it says on the tin, and then some. Fancy cereal on top of your doughnut? Try the crunchy nut and cereal milk doughnut. Why not go wild and try the bacon topped delight?

Manchester Doughnut Company,11 bloom Street, Manchester, United Kingdom

Cabana
Again, doughnuts in a lush Brazilian barbecue? That’s correct. The Chocolate Raindrops doughnut is every bit as good as it sounds but they even have a version of doughnut holes with their Bolinhos de Chuva stuffed with Nutella. Brilliant.

Cabana,  The Corn Exchange, Exchange Square, Manchester M4 3TR
