Cheese & Onion Fries
Well Seasoned: Nothing but Fries
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Matt from Well Seasoned this week for a little interview for a super top-secret project we are working on. These guys down at Hatch really know what they are doing and their food is out of this world. They keep things simple, on the surface at least, with an offering of seasoned fries, but some of these seasonings have up to 50 different herbs and spices in them which means they are well thought out and take the humble chip to the next level every time. The cheese and onion fries taste exactly like a bag of Walkers cheese and onion crisps. No really, they do, and I couldn’t get enough of them. – Kate Tighe

Castanzu Vermentino di Sardegna
20 Stories
I always feel a lot of pressure to talk about wine like I know anything about it. I don’t, at least not in the way that some people know about it. Either way, I like to think I know something delicious from a glass of plonk – so I am going to recommend this delicious white handpicked from the Sommelier at 20 Stories. It comes from Sardinia and it was lovely and light with a crisp finish and notes of apricots, peaches and white flowers like jasmine and rose. It was just what I need on a sunny day. – Rikki Chan

Aromatic Crispy Duck Pancakes
Tattu
They’ve got loads of new dishes over at the fantastic Tattu and I was lucky enough to pop down there this week to try them out. Duck in pancakes is a big favourite of mine and is something that I’ll always order at any Chinese restaurant. Tattu’s version is fantastic, with perfectly crispy and tender duck, all the fillings (plus crispy onions – a nice touch) and some of the best smoky hoi sin I’ve ever had. – Petr Kaiser

Untitled New Cocktail
Crazy Pedro’s
I got to sample of one the new cocktails at Crazy Pedro’s this week – a cocktail so bloody new that they’ve not even named it yet. Or perhaps they have and they just didn’t want to tell me. Either way it was fit and must surely be a good indication of what to expect when the new menu of drinks comes out in a few weeks. This bad boy was a lethal mixture of pink gin and mezcal and had me slurring my words (more so than usual) about halfway down. – Ben Brown

Chorlton Panozzo
Electrik
You’ve heard of pizza, but have you heard of the Panozzo? No? Well now you have and it is going to change your life. It is basically a bread roll made of pizza dough which is filled with sausage, grilled onions, chilli and peppers and grilled again. It is amazing and you can get them at Electrik on Saturdays only. Head down – you won’t regret it. – Jake Hardy

Easter Dessert
The Counter House
The Counter House is feeling the Easter love this weekend by offering a special dessert on Sunday. I have been lucky enough to go down and give it a try ahead of the bank holiday and let me tell you, you are in for a serious treat. It is basically a chocolate and strawberry mousse with jam and a hard chocolate shell which comes with a satisfying crack! It is like a grown-up Easter Egg and they are being given away for FREE all Sunday until they run out. Get yourselves down. – Ellie Edginton
