Dark Chocolate Delice
Harvey Nichols
It isn’t very often that I come across something better than sex, but this week I did. The chocolate delice from Harvey Nichols is quite possibly one of the single most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth. Ok let me build it for you; a chocolate pastry base, chocolate mousse, and dark chocolate ganache in this super shiny and utterly perfect rectangle. It was rich and sumptuous, creamy and sweet- all in equal measure. It came decorated beautifully with honeycomb, chocolate tuile and a beautiful quenelle of pistachio ice-cream. C’est Magnifique! – Kate Tighe

Long Island Cherry Swirl Cola
Eat New York
Everyone knows that if you want to get tiddly you have to order a long island ice tea. It has pretty much everything in it booze wise – we’re talking gin, vodders, rum, and tequila which is great, but what’s better is that it is dangerously drinkable too. I love the Long Island Iced Teas at Eat New York because they use cherry cola rather than the regular old stuff to just take things to the next level. They are 2-4-1 mid-week too- so you can find me in there pretty much any day of the week getting my fill. – Jake Hardy

Sweet and Salty Crab Fritters
Holy Crab
A new addition to the ever impressive Arndale Market, Holy Crab have been selling their range of seafood goodies at various street food events and establishments for a few years now, also impressing with some excellent supper club takeovers in recent times. You can choose from a couple of filled brioche buns as well as their amazing crab balls, but I went for the Sweet and Salty Crab Fritters – which are like crab doughnuts and are crispy, sweet, salty and very, very good. – Joe Wilson

Crème Brûlée
Kala
This week Kala opened, and we popped down on launch day for a spot of lunch. I loved everything, but especially the Crème brûlée. The brûlée was as custardy as necessary with a good set without being overly sweet with a hard snap of caramelised sugar on top. Not too much and not too little- just enough to give that satisfying CRACK I was looking for. – India Morris

Tofu Katsu Curry
Trof
Now, I am not vegan, nor do I ever plan to be but I am not obnoxious about it. I don’t think that meat or dairy needs to be in a dish to make it taste good, and if anything was a testament to this theory, it would be the vegan katsu curry from Trof. The sauce was plentiful and beautifully spiced with some fluffy rice, pickled ginger and some crispy kale. However, the best bit of this dish has to be crispy tofu which was creamy and crunchy in equal measure and the perfect textural replacement for the usual chicken. I actually think I might prefer it. – Kate Tighe

La Classique Poutine
Blue Caribou
As a young lad at Counthill School, Chips, Cheese and Gravy was an indulgent Monday treat when I was still flush from the weekly dinner money my dad begrudgingly gave me. It’s a classic, and not just in the deepest, darkest parts of Oldham. Unbeknown to me at the time, Canadians were doing the same thing – throwing cheese curds on chips and adding gravy (and then a whole host of other things too). This week saw street food legends Blue Caribou open up in the Arndale Market and as you’d expect – their poutine is spectacular. Go and get some now. – Ben Brown
