Burgerism, the Salford ‘hidden gem’ tucked away on an elusive industrial estate, has announced its plans for a brand-new on-street location in Gatley.

This is the first time Burgerism’s loyal customers will be able to see the brand on the high street.

The operation will essentially be the same, as all orders (both delivery and collection) will still be online, but guests will now get a sneak peek into the day-to-day operations of Burgerism’s top secret craft.

Over the past year, the take-out burger store has grown to become one of the city’s most-popular foodie destinations, with its signature smashed patty and buttermilk chicken burgers seeing people flock to the restaurant from as far as Newcastle.

Up to now, Burgerism has operated on a delivery and collection only basis from a hatch on the side of its Salford space. The new Gatley restaurant will see the business transform into an on-street modern takeaway establishment, or as Owner Mark Murphy puts it: “We’re building the future of takeaway. Our goal is to become the go-to delivery burger across the UK, almost like Domino’s is to pizza”.

And Burgerism knows a thing or two about delivery burgers – it was the most delivered burger on Deliveroo in Manchester in 2021 after all.

Set to open its doors next month, this is another exciting development for the brand that also recently won the award for Food Trader of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards 2022

The new Gatley store will open alongside Burgerism’s Salford take out spot, its dark kitchen in Ardwick and the restaurant’s pop-up inside Escape to Freight Island.

Mark furthered: “We’re super excited to launch in the Stockport/Cheadle area! Right from day one, we’ve had lots of die hard Burgerism fans make the pilgrimage across from Stockport to Salford and, while we’ve admired their commitment, we felt it was time to bring Burgerism closer to more of the fans!

“From our store in Gatley, we’ll offer delivery and collection, with delivery available right across Didsbury, Heaton Moor, Stockport, Wythenshawe, and Cheadle Hulme. Our collection system will work similar to Salford – with customers ordering ahead for a set pick-up slot. We’ve got some exciting plans for launch week and we’re hoping to say hi to lots of Burgerism fans (old and new)!”
