Some people will go to extraordinary lengths to entertain a child. The relentless need for something that will grasp their attention, ignite their creativity or just make them laugh can reduce a grown man to tears – especially when there is more than one of them.
After a few difficult family weddings – where roving gangs of pre-teens wander around the venue, skidding on their knees looking for a vulnerable adult to annoy and bully – I decided to do something about it and learn a few tricks to keep them at bay long enough to shake them off near the bar.
Luckily I don’t have any kids of my own that I need to entertain on the 6 weeks holidays or at weekends, because I probably would not be able to cope and would end up throwing an iPad in their direction at every opportunity. Those who have though should definitely give Bakerie in the NQ a big thank you for introducing their FREE Kids Cinema Club every Saturday and Sunday.
The cinema club will be showing back to back movies to keep the little gargoyles entertained long enough for you to have a breather, do some swearing and have a bit of a relax. To give you an idea of what kind of films to expect, this weekend they will be showing Shrek, Finding Nemo and The Goonies – which to be fair are all pretty mint films.
So head on down from 12pm til 5pm on Saturday or Sunday for this brilliant FREE offering. They will be announcing the movies (and any potential changes) on their Twitter so best have a check on there beforehand to avoid any disappointment tantrums.
