New to Manchester, flying the nest from London, streetfood trader Mumma Schnitzel will take up residency next to The Long Bar, to serve up hot schnitzel from the back of their bespoke Citroën van.

The menu includes a number of different takes on schnitzel, including; Mumma’s ultimate chicken burger, Halloumi burger or Chicken / Halloumi schnitzel, Lil Mumma’s (popcorn style chicken/ Halloumi bites) or Schnitz & Tings (a low carb option: schnitzel, lettuce, avocado, tomato, Mumma’s dressing).

Matt Walsh and Hollie Scrancher, the couple behind Mumma Schnitzel, set up the business after being inspired by a vivid memory of a chicken schnitzel sandwich they had from a little beach shack in Thailand. After over a year of fine tuning, they created the ultimate gourmet chicken burger and have seen customers flooding in ever since.

Mumma Schnitzel will be open from 12pm Monday to Saturday, with closing times due to vary. They will also offer a text and takeaway service for busy people on the move.

Hollie Scrancher said; “The street food scene in Manchester is starting to bubble, people are beginning to enjoy and get excited about this new way of dining. Restaurant quality food can be enjoyed quickly and inexpensively. London’s street food scene is head and shoulders above anywhere else in the UK. Manchester is set to follow so we thought we’d make the move whilst it’s still burgeoning!

“Spinningfields is the ideal place for Mumma Schnitzel. A bustling, trendy environment with already amazing eateries, it needs a street food edge for those busy workers lunch break. Spinningfields is the perfect place to create a street food mecca and hopefully we’ll set wheels in motion for others to want to join in the fun on Hardman Square.”
