Mollie’s Manchester is set to launch in the city early next year in the iconic former Granada TV Studios on Quay Street – the brand’s first city centre property and it’s first foray in the North.
Boasting upwards of 140 rooms, a 164-cover diner restaurant, a lounge bar with live music and private hire event space, workspace and lounge, and an outdoor heated terrace, this will be the third and largest Mollie’s site to date, following recent launches in Oxfordshire and Bristol.
The hotel and restaurant It will span the famous city landmark – Granada’s TV Studios building – right in the heart of the brand-new St Johns development and set to be central to Manchester’s buzzing social scene.
With rapid expansion plans to roll-out a pipeline of sought-after, design-led venues across the UK, Mollie’s bold vision is to transform affordable travel with its own distinctive and disruptive ‘budget-luxe’ offering.
Dreamed up by Nick Jones MBE (the founder of Soho House) and his creative design team, in spirit, Mollie’s was born in America – an offspring of the classic roadside motel and drive-in diner, a “welcome stopover on a route to somewhere”.
Expect inviting red neon signs and the easy-going vibe, the burgers, the shakes, the bottomless coffee, a dash of nostalgia… “but there’s nothing old-school about Mollie’s”.
With interiors designed by Soho House, high-spec contemporary rooms (natural oak and terrazzo flooring, Conran furniture, dreamy beds), all-day dining, plus digital check-in, work stations, food on the go and a dash of classic American motel-diner vintage.
The new Soho House will also be located above Mollie’s, with a members-only club and rooftop pool on the building’s top floors.
More details on Mollie’s (and Soho House) will be revealed in the coming months in the lead up to their opening. Follow Mollie’s on Instagram for all of the most up-to-date developments…
