The past few years have been rather tumultuous for the team at Salt & Pepper, as they were forced to leave their massively popular Arndale Market location earlier this year and set up shop inside Northern Quarter bar – Black Dog.
But sibling owners Chloe & Cash have knuckled down and continued to feed throngs of hungry people in the city with their traditional Chinese takeaway dishes with a modern twist. Brought up cooking and working with their parents, the duo took the most popular dish and merged it with Western tastes and thoroughly impressed the city with the results.
Anyway, after a few months at Black Dog, the pair have now applied for their very own restaurant – on High Street in the Northern Quarter next door to the English Lounge pub.
The licence application on the Council website promises fast-food style service with communal seating – so they’ll be continuing their very successful Arndale Market set up – offering you the chance to quickly pop in on your lunch hour, grab and go, or have a sit down if you don’t want to eat in front of your computer.
They’ve applied to open from 11:30am until 11pm every single day, and the application also includes an alcohol licence – so you’ll be able to sink some cold beers alongside your salt and pepper chicken and chips.
We’re unsure if they’ll still be operating out of Black Dog as well as their new location, and there’s no news yet on an opening date – so keep an eye out for information on all of that.
