A year in under the new management, FOLK in West Didsbury is now independently run by four mates. Born out of their love of fresh seasonal produce, tasty coffee, beers, cocktails and wine – the team have recently completely refurbished the inside and outside space.

The new concept at FOLK blends perfectly with the local community. Andy Jane, co-owner of FOLK, said: “We’re a neighbourhood bar that serves great food, drink and hospitality to families, couples, groups of friends and everyone in between. The response from the locals has been incredible.”

This Winter, FOLK has announced an all-new menu designed by Head Chef, Michael Moroney. Brunch is served daily from 10am until 3pm, followed by a day menu, serving mains, sides and small plates from 12pm until late.

The brunch menu highlights include the signature Folk Fry Up with smoked streaky bacon, Cheshire pork sausage, veggie black pudding, house beans, tater tots, fried eggs, chestnut mushrooms and sourdough toast, with Veggie Folk Fry Up available with halloumi.

Transforming the day into a casual and cosy dining setting, the day menu includes a selection of plates such as FOLK Cheeseburger, Bangers and Mash and Pan Roasted Sea Bass.

A selection of small plates are also available, including Guinness Braised Pigs Cheek, Nduja Croquettes and Curry Roasted Pumpkin. The menu changes every couple of months to reflect what is in season, plus specials available which change every fortnight.

From Thursday 1st December until Saturday 31st December FOLK will be serving a Christmas menu daily, from 2pm on Mondays to Saturdays, and from 1pm on Sundays. Three-courses is £32 per person and two-courses is £27 per person. The Christmas menu is for a minimum of 4 people and advanced booking is required.

The Christmas menu includes a choice of Spiced Pumpkin and Parsnip Soup, Jumbo Prawn Cocktail, or Ham Hock Terrine to start with. Followed by mains, with a choice of Roast Turkey, Beetroot, cranberry and pistachio Wellington, or Sea Bass. And finished with an option of Chocolate Brownie, Apple Strudel, or Cheese.

A sharing menu is also available as part of the Christmas offering, which is priced at £18 per person with a minimum of 6 people – perfect for groups celebrating the festive season.

In true neighbourhood style, FOLK is a second home for the family with After School Klub now running every Tuesday and Wednesday where all little FOLK are invited to come and eat free between 3pm and 8pm.

The Little FOLK menu includes Kids Cheeseburger, House Pasta, Homemade Chicken Goujons, Grilled Cheese Sandwich and more. Kids Eat Free is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a £12 minimum adult purchase, and one child per adult.

Happy Hour is also available from Monday to Friday, from 4pm until 7pm. The FOLK drinks menu includes cocktails such as New York Sour, Grapefruit Cosmo, Espresso Martini, and FOLK Negroni, plus a selection of signature G&T’s and beers on draught, bottles and cans. Now with mulled wine season approaching, guests can expect a constant supply to get them in the festive spirit.

Continuing with their programming, FOLK Didsbury hosts a series of Manchester’s finest DJs every Friday and Saturday evening, including the likes of Pasta Paul, Kickin’ Pigeon and Gareth James.

FOLK Didsbury is a neighbourhood bar and restaurant, open daily from 10am until late.
