La Bandera is Manchester’s only restaurant that creates authentic Canarian dishes, and so they’re taking this celebration VERY seriously this weekend, offering up 5 special Canary Island Tapas for just £30.

Canarian food is so unique to it’s islands and so for La Bandera to bring that taste to Manchester it takes a lot of love and effort. Each dish tells a story, typically inspired by the unique culinary scene on the islands that take in Spanish, African and South American influences.

For £30 you’ll get the following:

Pollo Salmorejo; Chicken strips cooked in a traditional Canarian sauce, topped with almond flakes
Gambas Volcán; King Prawns with Canarian spices, white wine, fresh and dry chillies
Papas Arrugadas; Canarian “wrinkled” potatoes with Mojo Rojo and Mojo Verde sauce
Bacalao Embarrado; Cod fillets in Canarian marinade with peppers, black peppercorn, garlic and vinegar
Bistec Asadores; Grilled flat iron steak in mojo rojo sauce and topped with fried onions

Additionally, you can order the 5 tapas alongside their brilliant cocktail ‘Absolute Bananas’ for £40, or for £55 you’ll get a bottle of El Grifo, a very special white wine from the Canary Islands.

Home to over 100 different micro-climates across the islands, the Canaries have proved to be an excellent place for growing grapes, with Canarian wine often being highly regarded within the wine community. A bottle of El Grifo would go down a treat alongside your tapas (and the sunshine).
