The Bay Horse Tavern in the Northern Quarter has launched a brand-new food menu, giving it a “summer spruce up” with a menu of bar snacks, grill dishes and more.
The modern take on a Victorian boozer has kept on many of their most favourite dishes (including the Fish & Chips, thank you) but added a whole lot more to the offering, including a new dedicated ‘Bar Snacks’ menu that’s perfect alongside a pint (or 5).
For your Bar Snacks, which are priced at £5 each (or £2.50 with the discount) you’d be mad to miss out on their Bread & Dripping or Homemade Pork Scratchings. There’s also a rather sexy Pork & Black Pudding Sausage Roll, Roast Potatoes and Beer Pickled Onions. My favourite though was the Cauliflower Bhajis – perfectly spiced, crispy and packed full of flavour, they even come with a little pot of mango chutney for dipping.
On to the main menu and the Starters now include Crispy Cod Cheeks (£8), Corned Beef Hash Fritters (£9), a Blue Cheese & Pear Tart (£7) and a selection of Cured Meats (£12).
‘From The Grill’ and there’s a Whole Rotisserie Baby Chicken (£18) served with corn on the cob, red slaw and your choice of mash or their legendary thrice-cooked chips. There’s also Chilli Marinated Gammon (£14) served with pineapple chutney.
To the Pies they’ve added a new vegetarian Mushroom & Leek (£10.50) option, alongside their Steak & Ale (£11.50), Chicken, Bacon & Spring Cabbage (£11.50) and their rather excellent classic Cheese & Onion (£10.50).
Another new addition is their Thai Beef Salad (£12), and they’ve re-introduced their Greek Salad (£10) too.
There’s still a great selection of Sandwiches, including a Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese, Walnuts & Apple (£10), Roast Sirloin with Watercress and Beer Pickled Onions (£12) and their always popular Beer Battered Cod (£11) with lemon and tartare sauce.
As I said earlier, you can get all of these top dishes with 50% OFF starting from Monday 15th until Wednesday 31st August. All you have to do is book online using the link below…
