GRUB is launching a set of workshops with new Street Food Traders in mind and on the 9th January they will be hosting a Q&A session with some of Manchester’s best street food traders.
This event is designed to give foodie hopefuls an insight and introduction in to what it’s like to start a street food business. Just the job for any home cooks, enthusiastic bakers or experienced chefs looking to make the leap into the world of street food.
Taking the microphone on the night will be Charlotte from Bakeorama one of Manchester’s most creative bakers), Eddie & Neil from What’s Your Beef (widely regarded as two of the best burger chefs in the north) and Mark Laurie (director of street food for the National Caterer’s Association).
They will be answering questions on topics including the best use of social media, menu design, getting gigs and how to avoid the most common mistakes when just setting off.
The event will be relaxed and informal with the bar open throughout. Last year’s event attracted over 200 attendees so if you like the sound of the workshop you shouldn’t delay in getting a free ticket and you should arrive early to guarantee getting a seat.
Jason Bailey, director of GRUB said “It’s so important for us to support new traders, at our heart we are a market and markets should always be gateways for passionate people wanting to start out. On top of that we’ve got loads of plans for 2019 so we need lots more amazing chefs and we just know Manchester has the talent!”
The Grub new trader workshop takes place Wednesday, January the 9th kicking off at 6 pm. The event is free entry and welcomes all comers but you must register for a ticket and last year’s event did sell out.
