South American Street Food, Vegan Comfort Food and Mac & Cheese: Meet the New Food Traders at Hatch

It isn’t a secret that the food at Hatch is out of this world, and one of the reasons for this is that they like to keep things fresh with their pop-up street food traders.

Each trader has a 12-week residency, and when that comes to a close, they pack up and someone else moves in.

This means, that we can be back at Hatch every few weeks for a completely new experience- and if that doesn’t keep you going back again and again, I don’t know what will.

This week Mama Z, Woks Cluckin and T’Arricrii will finish up their residencies (sad face), and we will sure be sad to see them go. However, we have some exciting new details of the traders set to move in:

Cayuco
I’ve got to say, I let out a little squeak of excitement when I found out this one. Cayuco will be serving up an array of Panamanian and South American street-food – something I am pretty sure we have never seen before here in Manchester. Expect beautiful dishes of Peruvian Ceviche, Chipotle Brisket, Fried Plantain Tostones and a plethora of delicious Tacos stuffed with everything you could possibly dream of. I cannot wait to get some of this down my gob.

The Mac Shac
Well known in the festival-food circuit, The Mac Shac have certainly made a name for themselves in the last year or two. These guys from Yorkshire are mavericks in all things Mac – serving up delicious portions of baked Mac & Cheese with some seriously pimped up toppings. Their blend of four cheeses (Cheddar, Mozzarella, Blue Cheese and Italian Hard Cheese) is outrageously good in its own right as well – this stuff is comfort food at its very best.

Food Me!
These guys will be sticking around for another few weeks. Food Me! offers plant-based vegan food serving up delicious and hearty dishes – absolutely spot on for Autumn. Fresh, warming soups, and big, vibrant mains like Autumn Cous Cous and Lentil Chilli will be dished up alongside beautiful fresh pressed juices such as ‘Dance to the Beet’ and blended smoothies like ‘Macalicious’.

There will be no food served at Hatch on Tuesday 16th while the new street-food traders move in, but Food Me will open back up on Wednesday 17th October with the new traders joining them on Friday 19th October just in time for the weekend.
