Taking place on Tuesday 20th September, Hello Oriental will host a mammoth feast in collaboration with Eat Well MCR, an organisation providing support and meals to people sidelined by poverty across the city.
The evening will be hosted at the ‘Northern powerhouse’ Asian street food hall that features a bar, cafe, events space and fully stocked market. Joined by an array of Manchester-based restaurants, the four-course Southeast and East Asian meal is set to bring together a combination of diverse tastes, flavours and cooking techniques all in aid of the charity.
Neon Tiger, one of the newcomers to the Manchester scene is starting off the evening with an exclusive arrival cocktail and snack. The restaurant is a new urban eating drinking space serving rural thai barbecue in the heart of the city, so you can expect something pretty special to kickstart the feast.
Next up, Hello Oriental, Rice Over Everything and WowYauChow will continue the meal with a selection of starters spanning sushi, sashimi, dim sum and salads. The three restaurants specialise in Burmese, Chinese and and East Asian street food, with each one providing its own unique flavour focus across the evening.
New Age Ramen will then sweep in with its incredible umami-rich bowls for the middle course, before Hello Oriental, Rice Over Everything and Tampopo craft the main star of the show. Expect noodle and rice dishes using the freshest ingredients, hand crafted for the fundraising event.
A selection of Asian desserts supplied by Hello Oriental and WowYauChow then round the evening off (if you’ve still got room) in the city’s newest East Asian concept store.
All funds raised through the banquet’s ticket sales will help to provide meals to people in need across Greater Manchester and fund the amazing work Eat Well MCR does for the city.
Making up the Eat Well MCR Collective is a huge line-up of local and independent bars and restaurants including, ARMR Store, Common, District, Higher Ground, Rainy City Ramen and many more, all working to provide chef made meals that provide a moment of respite to those in need.
