You’ve probably seen artist LeiMai LeMaow’s work dotted around the city centre – even if you didn’t know it at the time.

You know that weird green house on Port Street in the NQ which used to have Hacienda-style yellow and black stripes on it? Well, the new design on there is one of LeiMai’s.

Also, Stevenson Square was recently adorned with another great piece by LeiMai – featuring her now signature pointing, smiling gloved hand that’s sort of reminiscent of the contents on the end of Mickey Mouse’s stringy arms.

Well, she’s now turned her attention to making beers, with a collaboration with Northern Monk and ‘phantom’ craft brewery Mash Gang.

They’ve all come together to create GARY’S FIZZY ARMY – featuring over 2000kg of pineapple, passion fruit, blueberry and sour cherry – creating a beer that invokes your favourite childhood sweets.

The perfect accompaniment to these sunny days, the new beer sits sweetly at 2.4% ABV, meaning you can sup it all day and not end up projectile vomiting all over the place. AND if you fancy a cheeky little pick me up – a little shot of tequila into the can will provide you with a much-needed (and tasty) pocket rocket.

The new beer is available from Northern Monk’s online Beer Shop, as well as Ancoats Convenience Store, Stretford Food Hall and Sale’s Groceries & Beer.
