Come on, it’s only one day a year, and it is the least you can do to say thank you for all those sly tenner’s, always being on your side and generally putting up with your crap for the past twenty-something years.
Manchester is going to be awash with Mother’s Day menus at every restaurant, bar and café you could possibly think of. I know the stress of being completely overwhelmed, but there is one menu I’ve come across which I think looks pretty damn perfect.
Randall & Aubin is a fantastic Anglo-French Brasserie with a focus on fish and a stunningly chic interior that I just know your mum will love. Their food is delicious and I expect no less from their Mother’s Day menu:
Starters
Veloute of salt baked celeriac & truffle sabayon
Port of Lancaster oak smoked salmon
with cornichons, hens egg, rye bread and dill mustard dressing
Mains
Seared fillet of sea bream
With braised endive, light curry and raisin dressing
Roast Aberdeenshire Beef
With Yorkshire pudding, fine beans, roast potatoes and glazed carrots with horseradish cream
Risotto of wild mushrooms and herbs
Dessert
Chocolate Tart
With cherry ice cream
My spidey-senses tell me that this is going to get snapped up pretty sharpish so make you book a table ASAP or you are going to have a very disappointed mother on your hands- and we all know that is so much worse than anger.
