Nell’s Pizza is heading to Alti.
The New York slice and 22-inch pizza-mongers will be expanding to Altrincham’s new Stamford Quarter, taking a space in the Foundation building.
It will be the second dedicated Nell’s restaurant, after opening in Kampus in 2021.
Founder Jonny Heyes said: “We’ve been hoping to open a Nell’s in Altrincham for years. We love the town, it’s so vibrant, it almost feels like coming on holiday when you head over here. We can’t wait to be part of it.”
The pizza brand started out in Northern Quarter favourite Common and The Beagle in Chorlton, before opening at Kampus, and earlier this year opened a second delivery kitchen in Piccadilly East to cope with demand.
It’s known for its hit OG Cheese and the best-selling Do You Roni Honey, topped with nduja, pepperoni and hot honey, as well as serving up the biggest pizzas in the city. They also do a mean line in ice cream sandwiches.
Commenting on the announcement, James Tootle, Head of Retail and Leisure at Bruntwood, said: “We’re delighted that Nell’s will be joining the Foundation community. It’s a brilliant, independent brand that will cement the Stamford Quarter’s next chapter as a destination for dining and leisure as well as shopping.
“It’s an important step forward in our vision for revitalising the high street with the workspace now complete at Foundation and it’s exciting to announce the arrival of the exciting operators that will complete the offering.”
A spokesperson for Trafford Council added: “Trafford is bucking the UK-wide trend of declining High Streets, as we continue to invest in our towns to create thriving hub destinations for local people. The addition of Manchester favourite Nell’s demonstrates the popularity of Stamford Quarter and Altrincham as a leisure and hospitality destination, and will be a fantastic addition to the offering at the Foundation building.
“The council is committed to the regeneration of all of our town centres in the borough, with further work planned for Altrincham, Stretford and Sale in the coming months.”
The new branch is set to open in September.
It follows news that Manchester Neapolitan pizza success story Rudy’s is also set to open a restaurant in Altrincham, bringing its count of UK locations to 27.
