After a whirlwind year which saw them building a bakery in Ancoats, selling at the fantastic Ancoats Pop-Up, before offering delivery through Foodstuff and popping up at Deansgate Square’s General Store, The Flat Baker have some very exciting news to announce.

Well, you’ve probably read the title above so you already know it. Yep, the Brazilian bakers are taking over the café at Ancoats General Store from Monday 18th October – and we absolutely cannot wait!

A family business born out of lockdown, Brazilians Matt & Debs began baking Brazilian treats from their flat back in March 2020 (hence the name). It’s their dream to own a Brazilian café at some point – and this move to Ancoats General Store is bringing that dream a little bit closer.

The Flat Baker specialise in a range of Brazilian pastries, including the country’s most popular street food snack – the famous Pão de Queijo cheese balls. They also offer up a range of loaded Focaccia sandwiches, Açai ‘power’ juices and hot drinks.

Their best seller is their Pistachio Croissant, made using Black Milk’s pistachio cream. They’re MEGA!

You can also expect generous offerings of Pastel de Nata (of course), Cruffins stuffed with Brazilian ‘doce de leite’ caramel, Cornbread, Baguettes, Sourdough, and LOADS more.

The Flat Baker will be taking over the café at Ancoats General Store from Monday 18th October. Pop down and say hello!
