Taking influence from the North of Thailand, where the cuisine favours street food-style barbeque dining, Neon Tiger will bring bold new flavour to Bridge Street, opening from Thursday 9th June.

The brand-new bar + kitchen will introduce a sharing dining concept for guests to tuck into; with flame-kissed skewers, bright salads and a deep-flavoured coconut curry noodle dish amongst the offering, encouraging guests to settle in and enjoy a feast of nostalgic Thai recipes, reimagined.

Baan Yang (Thai for “Grill House”) adopts traditional cooking processes of live fire and smoked meat cooking to present bold, fiery, and unapologetic flavours. Neon Tiger will utilise the UK’s finest produce to maximise the flavours expected from these recipes and techniques.

Perfectly accompanying the Baan Yang sharing dishes is the centrepiece noodle bowl, designed to be enjoyed solo, with noodles hand-pulled locally in Manchester, from the team at Komugi Noodles. Deeply aromatic, light, yet satisfying, with a rich coconut Thai curry, tender cuts of marinated chicken, crispy and soft noodles and an essential squeeze of lime.

Baan Yang will pay homage to traditional skewer dishes – cooked over charcoal and served on small plates, intended for sharing and to create an intimate dining experience. Packed with punchy aromatics, the grill menu will include a house-made Lemongrass & Turmeric Smoked Sausage, King Oyster Mushroom Skewers, and Coal-roasted Aubergine with soft boiled egg and sweet soy dressing.

Accompanying the brand-new dining concept, guests will also be welcomed to a contemporary drinking space as they walk in. The unassuming modern and minimal open bar will playfully present speciality cocktails. The cocktail menu is fun and based on strong individual flavours – including Melon, Pineapple, Grapefruit and Rhubarb.

Alongside this, the Northern Quarter’s Ad-Hoc Wines will curate a special wine menu to showcase organic and sustainable wines from around the world. The wine menu will be fluid where it changes over time to present the best small production they have in season. A wine flight will also be available as part of the restaurant’s dining experience.

Ben Morris, Co-Founder of Neon Tiger, said: “We love this city and are looking forward to bringing what we think will be a new F+B experience to Manchester. Neon Tiger was born from our obsession with classic neighbourhood bars, incredible wines and exciting cocktails. Food wise we have taken inspiration from some of our favourite restaurants like Kiln, Smoking Goat and Temper in London as we have always been massive fans of this style of BBQ and think that the bright and bold flavours you get from these dishes would shine in a more relaxed and bar focused space. Most of all we hope to have created a welcoming and comfortable environment for people to come and try some delicious things.”
