The area next to Everyman Cinema on Central Way in Altrincham is now being transformed into a thriving new community space of shipping containers featuring a variety of local traders serving up delicious food and drink.
Known as One Central, the containers will host a variety of local businesses, with initial plans to provide takeaway and delivery throughout lockdown, followed by an official launch in December when restrictions are lifted. Revellers will be invited to relax, drink and dine on a heated outdoor terrace and under a giant disco ball.
David Vanderhook, owner & founder of The Con Club said, ‘It’s been an incredibly tough year for hospitality, more now that ever it’s important that we radiate community spirit through a joint passion for food and drink.
“We want to champion smaller operators and independents that have a fantastic product to preview, but no platform to do so. We co-founded takeaway UNAGI street food on the cusp of the first lockdown, trading from a small airstream on Central Way and the response was incredible.
“We’ve since established a loyal following and we want other local traders to have that opportunity without the worry of extortionate rent and rates!!’
Local chefs Luke Barnes and Brent Norbury of Choza are first to take residence, with an ever-changing menu of South American and European inspired dishes.

They will be joined by Mark Lee-Kilgariff, owner of award winning Tatton Perk Coffee, who promises to bring a ‘Coffee Winter wonderland’ to One Central, with award-winning melted hot chocolates and Artisan donuts from lockdown start-up, Holy Dough!
Residents of the remaining container are yet to be revealed, with plans to offer ‘guest slots’ to other budding street food traders, but one thing is for sure, Altrincham’s already exciting food and drink scene is expanding yet again!
