Launching as a ‘virtual restaurant’ during the lockdown of 2020, Cheeky Tikka quickly gained a loyal following in and around Cheshire, it seemed that people just couldn’t get enough of their Indian fusion dishes that really “packs a punch”.
The brains and chef behind Cheeky Tikka is Aisha Tilstone, and after 17 years in the events industry, the lockdown presented the opportunity to try something different, and as restrictions eased – the company grew and grew.
In June 2021 they moved out of their dark kitchen and launched their first ever pop-up restaurant in Laithwaite’s Wine in Alderley Edge and then The Churchill Tree in Wilmslow – selling out with their 4-course Indian dinner “with a cheeky twist.”
This week sees Cheeky Tikka expand into the city centre, taking up a spot down at Hatch on Oxford Road with their ‘Bites’ concept. The menu is yet to drop but you should expect some signature Indian street food dishes “packed with lots of spicy goodness.”
Menu highlights include fan favourite ‘Cheeky Samosa Chaat’ – a crispy samosa topped with a mildly spiced chickpea salsa, pomegranate and a mint and tamarind sauce; as well as their ‘Cheeky Chips and Gravy’: chunky chips with lashings of butter chicken and gravy.
Aisha from Cheeky Tikka Bites said “We can’t wait to bring an authentic taste of India to Hatch! There is such a great mix of cuisines at the destination and we are so excited to complete the Hatch family with delicious, warming South Asian food.”
Cheeky Tikka is open NOW.
