Manchester’s favourite sweet treat brand will open a new neighbourhood bakery & café this weekend. Taking over the former Cat Cafe site in the Northern Quarter, Gooey’s new home will boast an in-house bakery, takeout coffee offering and a counter full of pastries, cookies, donuts and baked goods.

Whatsmore, the new Gooey will now serve their take on brunch, think Bacon Butties on Shokupan bread, Whipped Avo on Toast, a show-stopping Gooey French Toast and sides including house-made Hash Brown Stacks & Halloumi with a Chilli Jam.

Gooey’s site on High Street in the NQ will offer their largest bakery selection yet introducing croissants, cruffins and pastries alongside their Insta-famous warm, gooey cookies and sugar-coated stuffed brioche donuts; with classics, specials and crowd-pleasers all made from scratch daily.

Those looking for a caffeine fix can pop in for a Dead Good Coffee or the best brew in town, with Gooey serving no-frills Yorkshire Tea. Their new home also boasts an open bakery where customers will get a front row seat to the baking action.

The kitchen will be home to the production of all things Gooey; from the proofing to the filling, the rolling to the decorating, the bakery will be a treat for all the senses.

Gooey French Toast

Alongside the counter offering, the new Gooey site will feature a café, serving up the most mouthwatering, freshly made brunch and lunch dishes, each with their own Gooey touch.

Dishes include:

Gooey French Toast
French toast stuffed with dulce de leche and maple syrup, topped with a slab of French salted butter.

The Bacon Sandwich
Thick-cut bacon cured with black pepper served between toasted shokupan bread.

Hash Browns
A stack of three house-made perfectly fried, perfectly golden, perfectly seasoned crispy squares of Koffman’s Potatoes.

Tucked just off the High Street on the open square, Gooey’s neighbourhood bakery and cafe brings a West Coast vibe with Northern Quarter charm. Whilst the interiors and open kitchen will be a sight for the eyes, the scents of the bakery are set to tantalise the taste buds from fresh bread baking in the oven to sweet-scented vanilla, cinnamon and melting chocolate.

Gooey will open on Friday 26th August, every day from 9am – 6pm.

The Gooey Kiosk at Ducie Street Warehouse will remain open from Wednesday-Sunday for the usual of Gooey cookies, donuts & buns.
