There are many things in the world that transcend culture and language. Football for example. Coca-Cola. Oh, and burgers.
Yes, no matter where you are in the world, whether you’re sat in a park in LA, posing on Ipanema beach in Rio, on a packed train in India or watching telly in Stretford – you’ll never be too far away from a lovely burger and it’s many, many iterations.
In India you’ll find the Vada Pav, a spicy potato burger, whereas in Tokyo you might find one of the coveted Ramen Burgers that were so popular a few years back. There’s a million different ways to build up and create a burger, and this new city centre delivery service are looking to celebrate them all in all of their glory.
The concept at BURGERS ON TOUR is simple; offer up a monthly selection of unique and exotic burgers from around the world – and they’re starting things of with a bit of Brazil, Mexico, Portugal and Hawaii.
They’ve literally got hundreds of iterations to choose from every month, so you should expect some truly wonderous offerings to come – and indeed this first set of burgers are nothing to be scoffed at.
They start each burger off with either a 100% British Beef smashed patty, or 24hr marinated chicken, and then top with an array of refined additions.
This month they’ve got their ‘Mr Surf N’ Turf‘ (£8.95), a delight for steak and seafood lovers topped with flame-grilled king prawns, cheese and their special in-house ‘Ay Caramba!’ sauce.
There’s also the South American ‘Gata Loca‘ (£8.95), a smashed burger topped with juicy Brazilian picanha sirloin steak and a homemade chimichurri sauce from Argentina.
One of the best things about Burgers on Tour is the fact that they also offer each one of their burgers as a SLIDER – meaning you can easily sample each one without having to order a big burger each time.
You can essentially mix & match your burger selection – pretty much travelling the world of burgers in every bite! You can even go ‘Big n’ Small’ and order a normal sized burger alongside a smaller slider that you fancied giving a try.
I ordered myself a Papi Chulo (£8.95); double smashed beef patty with homemade hatch chilli sauce, cheese and mayo, on Thursday (with a load of Peri-Peri fries on the side) and I was massively impressed.
It was juicy, spicy and cooked to perfection – exactly the kind of burger I’d expect to be scoffing on the streets of Tulum if I wasn’t stuck here in Manchester. Oh yeah, and get some chicken wings too – they’re truly excellent.
For their opening weekend Burgers on Tour will have a range of different colour burger buns available! Open now on Deliveroo & Uber Eats…
