Focusing on comfort food at a reasonable price point, this week saw the opening of The Stables, a canteen-style eatery with meals for just £5 at lunch and £8 at dinner.
Created by workspace and hospitality company All Work & Social, The Stables is located in the Old Granada Studios, and is catered to feed the thousands of workers that are set to move into the recently established ‘Enterprise City’ between Spinningfields and Deansgate.
The menu features a range of curries, pies and fish and chips, with ingredients and produce sourced locally, and the city of Manchester recognised throughout the menu.
“With all food served on your tray fresh from the kitchen, accompanied by a well-stocked bar, it is the ideal spot for team mates to meet throughout the day to relax and unwind,” said All Work & Social food and beverage director Phil Dove.
The Stables will then be open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for lunch and dinner, with lunch served 12.30pm – 2pm for just £5, and dinner served 4.30pm – 6pm for £8.
They’ll serve up their classic ‘Chippy Lunch‘ with both pork and veggie sausages, chips, gravy, cheese, curry sauce and buttered muffins, as well as Curries including Chicken, Spinach & Yoghurt and Sweet Potato & Cauliflower, all seved with rice, naan bread and onion bhajis.
Pie Night includes a freshly baked pie with a choice of meat or veggie fillings, served with chips, mushy peas and of course – gravy.
The Stables will be open from Tuesday 9th August for walk-ins only.
