If you’re vegan, you’ll know how hard it is to get a decent quality take on a scotch egg in Manchester.
I’m veggie, so it is a little easier. I’ve got a packet of the Quorn ones constantly glued to my bag during summer to pair with an impromptu tinnies in the park situation. A quorn scotch egg and a warm can of Stella is honestly a match made in heaven.
As I was saying, though, it’s a bit of a nightmare for vegans. But, at Kampus right now, you can grab vegan scotch eggs, pork pies, sausage rolls and loads of other tasty sweet treats to quench your stodge craving!
The business was a lockdown project of Owner, John that began at the end of last year, and it aims to bring all of the best British picnic basket treats to Manchester in vegan form!
His vegan bakes are insanely good, with many citing them as ‘the best they’ve ever tried’ – so if you’re venturing down to the park this weekend to soak up the Spring sunshine we’re being graced with at the moment, make sure you stop off at The Vegan Picnic Basket First.
They also offer their own Picnic Boxes, which consist of a number of sweet or savoury treats for you to choose from.
John is currently set up in the kitchen of Sleepless Cat Coffee at Kampus, which is run by expert roaster Max and serves gorgeous coffee blends to enjoy cosying up in the bungalow or to take out along with a vegan sausage roll.
The Vegan Picnic Basket has also recently joined Foodstuff, which means you don’t even have to leave your house or venture too far to enjoy John’s amazing bakes. They can literally be delivered straight to your door. Happy days!
