…independent casual dining venue Tine and wine specialists Le Social.
Tine will join Le Social as the host of the third pop-up within the garden neighbourhood, taking over the Bungalow, Kampus’ iconic building on stilts until the end of September.
Occupying the Bungalow kitchen, Tine will look to serve unique umami tweaks on traditional British cuisine, inspired by the best produce the British Isles and Ireland has to offer.
Offering an exclusive set menu of five courses, Tine will partner with fellow resident Le Social who will complement the dishes with an extensive list of fine organic and natural wines. Tine pride themselves on working with incredible farmers, focussing on hyper seasonal and local products, so each plate will tell its own story.
Tine is the brainchild of Josh and James, a pair of ambitious Mancunian chefs with more than 20 years’ experience between them in some of the most prestigious restaurants of Manchester. The talented pair created Tine with the purpose of creating progressive and innovative dishes calling on their experience at Mana, Where The Light Gets In, Manchester House and Wolf At The Door.
Known for its unique selection of natural and organic wines, Le Social will also stock a range of beers, cocktails and aperitifs inspired by long summer evenings on the continent, served canalside, in the heart of the city centre neighbourhood. The team has developed an exciting soft drink selection in collaboration with Copenhagen’s MURI Drinks.
Le Social was founded by wine professional Jérôme Boullier during lockdown. Jérôme provided a door-to-door wine delivery service with all profits given to charity – the business grew rapidly into a specialist retailer and wholesaler of organic and natural wines, working closely with the likes of General Store, Common & Co, Butcher’s Quarter and Feel Good Club to name a few.
Kampus, is a vibrant new neighbourhood built around a garden developed by CAPITAL&CENTRIC and HBD. Its collection of old and new buildings offers a melting pot of architectural styles and builds on a rich cultural heritage, making use of historic buildings that lay derelict for years, right next to the famous Canal Street in Manchester’s Gay Village and just minutes from Piccadilly Station.
The Kampus gardens and Bungalow are the central feature of the community and are permanently open to the public, with the Bungalow operating as a village hall for pop-up events and community groups.
The neighbourhood is alive with events and will be home to home grown, independent bars, restaurants, cafés and retail from brands including General Store, Common &. Co/ Cornerstone and Bread Flower.
Residents have already moved into the one and two bedroom apartments in North Block. This beautiful red-brick new building sits alongside the newly launched refurbished 1960s brutalist tower called The Stack, its sister building South Block and two beautiful Victorian shipping warehouses, Minto & Turner and Minshull House. All of the buildings at Kampus are set to fully open over the next three months.
